I
went on to further my education by taking the Professional Fitness and
Lifestyle Course, Medical Exercise Specialist, Functional Capacity
Evaluator and will upgrade to the Exercise Therapist Designation in Nov
06.
After
graduating high school I decided to make exercise/health and fitness my
life and went to University to pursue a Bachelor of Physical Activity
Studies majoring in Fitness and Lifestyle.
I
have worked as an Exercise Therapist in many different
environments:
Cardiac Rehabilitation in Edmonton, Ab. This involved
rehabilitating
patients post heart attack/stroke or at high risk for cardiovascular
disease and working directly with a Cardiologist and medical
team in a
multidisciplinary physiotherapy clinic in Swift Current, patients
injured at work or in motor vehicle accidents, functional capacity
evaluations, setting up return to work programs and personal training
for general public.
Currently
I am the Senior Ability Management Coordinator Position for our Health
Region and am enjoying taking on personal training clients to help them
reach their fitness goals
